Hand pain makes for less knitting so I’m taking a look at Fall Projects and Fall Food.
Favorite Fall Projects:
Lightweight scarves/wraps: Clapotis, Chevron Scarf, Wisp, Gaia
Socks: Anything stockinette
Sweaters: Eyelet Vest, Rusted Root
Hats: Casual Comfort
Fingerless Gloves: Fetching, Vancouver Fog
Fall Food:
Pumpkin: Pear Pumpkin Bread (Vegetarian Times Oct ’12), Pumpkin Pie Wontons, Pumpkin Beer
Crockpot Meals: Italian Sausage & Bean dish, need more veggie options
Soups: Split Pea, Minestrone
Drinks: Lemon-Ginger Echinecea juice, Oatmeal-Raisin Cookie

It sounds like you might have carpal tunnel syndrome, which does result from a pinched nerve. I recommend getting some wrist braces & wearing them at night. If you let it go too long it will get worse & you may need surgery. A nerve conduction velocity test can help give you a diagnosis. I got some braces that allow a bit of movement & wearing them at night has stopped/dulled the pain & tingling enough that I can knit again. Sometimes I even wear them while knitting. Best of luck!
